FIELD TRIP TO VISIT THE UNIVERSITY OF YORK EXCAVATIONS AT SKIPSEA 26th MAY 2026

On Tuesday 26th May at 3pm we will be visiting the multi-period University of York excavations at Skipsea.

This will involve a tour of the site by Drs Elaine Jamieson and Jim Leary and a chance to examine some of the finds.  Highlights include the early medieval structures on Sparrow Croft, including a possible malthouse and cellared tower structure, and prehistoric artefacts and deposits along the shores of surrounding wetland areas.
