Val Fairhurst has kindly organised our Summer Residential trip to South Wales. Bookings and deposits need to be made as soon as possible so don't procrastinate - get booking! Our ERAS trips are always friendly, well-organised and jam-packed with options for sight-seeing experiences.
ERAS trip to South Wales, 7-10th June 2018
Proposed itinerary
Thurs, 7th June. Drive to Monmouth with time there to visit Castle and Museum. Drive to Beaufort Hotel Chepstow (only 2-star but central location). 2 course meal included in price for this night only.
Friday 8th June
Drive to Ogmore Castle (just south of Brigend) with lunch in pub there.
Visits on the way there, or back: Caerwent Roman town Tinkinswood Burial Chamber, possibly Chepstow Castle and Bulwarks camp at end of day.
Sat 9th June
Caerleon Roman fortress, Museum, Baths and amphitheatre, lunch in Caerleon. Tintern Abbey in later afternoon.
Sun 10th June
Drive to Bristol, visit HMS Great Britain
Return home

Accommodation is B&B in the Beaufort Hotel Chepstow, except for the first night, when a 2-course dinner is included. It you wish to cut costs there is a highly-recommended hostel in Chepstow (Greenman’s Backpackers): if you wish to choose this option, please contact me for a coach-only price. Lunches and entrance charges are not included, but some sites are free, and I will check for party rates.
I realise I’ve only provided the briefest of details, but I need to get the coach and hotel booked, as Chepstow is a popular town. I do need a deposit of £80 to secure a place. At present, this will be returnable if your booking can be transferred to someone else, but will become non-returnable by the end of January, as I will have to confirm the rooms and coach.
