We've been keeping up with the amazing pictures and articles relating to the high status Roman site discovered at Eastfield near Scarborough and we hope you have enjoyed the updates.
MAP Archaeological Practice (MAP) have kindly offered ERAS members access to visit the site before it is reburied. The guided visit will take place at 1030 am on Tuesday 24 August. The site will be operational - busy with construction staff and archaeologists continuing excavations. The site can be very muddy and slippery when wet and is also over a large expanse of land - so a lot of walking over undulating ground is to be expected. Please obviously wear appropriate footwear.
Anyone wishing to attend or with general questions about the visit should email Angela Fawcett at [email protected] This is an incredible opportunity to be one of the few to view the structural remains before they are reburied.
