NOTICE OF POSTPONEMENT OF FFWAP LECTURES

MESSAGE FROM ALISON AT FFWAP:

Please be advised that it has been decided to postpone the remaining FFWAP talks due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The talks planned for 7th April, 2nd June and 30th June will now be held when this pandemic is considered to be over.

Magnetometry surveying has also been suspended because of the communal handling of the equipment.

I will advise when alternative dates for the remaining talks have been arranged.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE ERAS COMMITTEE

With the uncertainty around the current Coronavirus situation, we feel we have a duty of care not to expose our members to potential infection. With this in mind we are cancelling lecture meetings at Hull University, including next months AGM, and our field studies meetings in Beverley until further notice. At the moment we are hoping that we will be back to normal in September and can hold the AGM then.
We will have to see how things progress, but we are hoping that our summer events can still go ahead. We will keep you informed as best we can.

PROPOSED TRIP TO ELSECAR - 11 JULY 2020

Following the excellent presentation from Tegwen Roberts in September of last year, detailing the fantastic community project at Elsecar in South Yorkshire, we are proposing to organise a visit to the site on Saturday 11 July. The cost will be £7.50 each (if we can attract enough people interested in attending). Hopefully the visit will also include a walk along the canal to Hemingfield Colliery which may or may not incur an additional cost (details to be confirmed). Members interested in attending would have to make their own way there - car sharing is encouraged. Please email Richard at [email protected] to book a place. http://www.elsecar-heritage.com
