FIELD STUDIES - WEDNESDAY 4 DECEMBER - 7.30 PM
Our next event is Wednesday 4 December when our Field Studies Group will meet in Beverley at St Nicholas Parish Rooms on Holmechurch Lane at 7.30 pm. We are welcoming member Val Reilly who has built up a vast array of archaeological finds and she will be kindly bringing them in and talking about her experiences. We look forward to welcoming members old, new and curious.
Christmas Social - Friday 13 December 2019
Date for your festive diaries 🥂🎄- the Christmas Social has been booked!!!! This year's festivities will take place on Friday 13 December at 7.30 pm til late. We have secured 26 Wilson Street, Anlaby - a wonderful cafe/licensed bar (almost opposite The Red Lion pub). There will be a buffet laid on by the venue and we will have the usual quizzes and games. All this for only £10!!!!!!! Do come along and support this event - it is always a fun evening and everyone is made to feel very welcome. Field Studies - Wednesday 2 October - 7.30 pm
We are sorry to report that our Field Studies night next week will no longer host Chris Hannard as he is no longer able to attend. We will continue therefore with our work on the Holme on Spalding Moor waster pottery from the Skiff Lane Romano-British kilns. For those who haven't attended our Field Studies night yet we are currently recording the rims of the pottery collection affectionately known as 50 Shades of Grey! If you are interested in coming along we look forward to seeing you at 7.30 pm at St Nicholas' Parish Rooms on Holmechurch Lane in Beverley. BBC Radio Humberside - Phil White Roadshow - Southburn Museum - Friday 6 September
Tune into BBC Radio Humberside from 12.15 pm on Friday when Phil White will be broadcasting from Southburn Museum. There will be interviews all afternoon with representatives from the Museum - including the Chair, Bill Coultard, Philip Huxtable of JSR Farms who host and support the Museum, and representatives from other associated heritage organisations - including our very own Angela Fawcett at 2.40 pm who will talk enthusiastically about the benefits of ERAS membership. Tune in and listen to insights on a range of archaeological information relating to the very special landscape of East Yorkshire.
